Hilmar Thordarson was born in Akureyri Iceland in 1960. After graduating from The Reykjavik College of Music in Theory and Music Composition he went to USA for further studies. He holds a MFA in Composition from California Institute of the Arts and MA from Yale School of Music. During the years of 1992-1995 Mr. Thordarson worked as a composer in residence at Center for New Music and Audio Technology (CNMAT) in Berkeley California. During that time he had a unique opportunity to work some experiment with music and computer technology.
