The Irish Sound, Science and Technology Association returns to Limerick this year for its fifth annual Convocation (ISSTC 2015) on August 12-13. The theme, “Resonance and Recapitulation: Echoes of a Renaissance,” focuses on Limerick City, the place of the first Convocation ever held and City of Culture for 2014.
Events include papers, workshop, sound art installations and concerts. Keynote speakers are Ximena Alarcón and Miller Puckette. Alarcón is a fascinating sound artist from Mexico based in the UK. Puckette was the creator of Max and Pd, software for music creation used all over the world.
Registration is required for papers, keynotes, workshop and reception. Concerts are included with registration or €10 at the door. The art is free to the public. Venues are Dance Limerick, Limerick Printmakers, Hunt Museum, FabLab and Ormston House.
